Darryl Johnson is a creative who wears many hats within the world of mainstream media — from book publishing to fashion design, sound engineering and music production.
From youth to present day, he always knew that the arts-and-entertainment sectors were his calling. And five decades later, he still hasn’t lost sight of that dream.
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Darryl grew up with a gifted ability of quickly learning new skills; trying his hand at graffiti-art, sketch illustrations, and sewing.
He ventured into music with his siblings (forming The Johnson Brothers singing group), and eventually branched out on his own to self-manage and produce his own music group, The Next Millennium.
In the realm of publishing, Darryl has created and self-funded a children’s book series titled: “The Adventures of the Toppley Sweeps” — a colorful illustration book that highlights the joys of discovering math, science, health, and culture (all inspired by the life curiosities of his many grandchildren).
As a CEO and serial entrepreneur, Darryl helms a full-scale media company, called PENVOID, which operates four business portfolios including: Pengulum Writers, Void Fashions, G.O.T.G, and Void Productions.
As a lifelong learner and patron of the arts, Darryl is currently a visiting student at New York City’s prestigious FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology), studying design.
And as a retired military veteran, Darryl spends his spare time volunteering as a vendor at the James J. Peters Veterans Center in The Bronx, New York.
